Alden Double Waterlock Officer Boot

I don't wear black shoes all too often, but when I do, I believe that simplicity is paramount to the shoe.  Of course one of the most appealing styles is the officer boot.  It's simple, clean aesthetic looks great paired with anything from jeans to flannel.

We chose to make up our version of the traditional officer boot in a satin finish black calfskin that can be polished to a spit shine if you see fit.  We also added Alden's "Double Waterlock Oiled Leather Sole", which is quickly becoming a staple for us.  The added functionality of a water resistant sole is really great for anyone, even if you are not in a wet climate such as Portland.  Again we added a hard rubber heel for traction and stability.

Now, we were lucky enough to have a few deadstock "Starburst" heels included on the 11.5 and 12 sizes.  These heels were used by Alden on their Foot Balance collection during the middle part of the 20th century and are a unique little detail that not everyone can offer.  Unfortunately, these could only be included on the size 11.5 and 12, so if you are lucky enough to have that size, you can score a little piece of Alden history on your boot.  The Barrie last does run 1/2 size larger than standard US sizing.
