Alden Workman Oxford

This one has been a long time in the making and we may never get the chance to create it again as it was kind of a chore for Alden to make. That being said, thank you to Alden as always for making up this run of only 12 pair for us.

A year ago Nate, our Alden rep, and I got together and did the spec for this model.  I have always had a soft spot for the Alden 40, the style this one is based off of, and it was very nice to actually create it.  Our Winn Perry exclusive version is made from brown Horween Chromexcel leather and uses the signature double waterloc sole and hard rubber heel.  Some of the heels that were used are the very last of the deadstock "Starburst" heels that Alden used for their shoes so many years ago, so if you are lucky enough to get a pair with them on, it will be a fun treat.  This model is made to Alden New England standards with Goodyear Welt construction, full leather linings, triple ridged steel shank, and natural cork insole.

However, this is not a perfect shoe and it was not meant to be.  The chromexcel leather pulls lighter and darker in different areas, the light antique finish on the leather outsole can really show the marks from the machine that stitches the storm welts.  All of these little things really allow you to see the variations that occur when a shoe is handmade.  All that being said, I feel pretty confident in saying that this shoe will only get better the more that you wear it.
